  1. Place a bid now or wait ’til the soft close begins Sunday night at 7!

  2. Wait. What’s a soft close? That means for every new bid, the lot will stay “live” another 3 minutes to give competing bidders another chance. The lot closes when there’s no more active bidding. Be sure to refresh the page and keep your eye on the countdown!

BUYING AT HAYLOFT

BIDDING

To participate in Hayloft auctions, you must register on our website. When you're signed in, navigate to “Account Info” to receive email notifications whenever a new bid is registered or you are outbid. To leave an absentee bid, enter the highest amount you are willing to pay for the lot. If a competing bid is placed on that lot, the computer system will automatically place the next highest bid on your behalf until your maximum is reached. You can also bid in real time throughout the soft close. Be sure to refresh the webpage regularly so you don't miss any competing bid.

AUCTION START/CLOSE

The auction catalogue is online and open for bidding for 5 days (usually starting on a Wednesday, and closing on a Sunday at 7 pm). The auction ends in a "soft close"--that means for every new bid, the lot will stay "live" another 3 minutes to allow competing bidders to bid, so there's no mad dash of mouse-clicking at the end of the sale! The lot closes when there is no more active bidding. Be sure to keep your eye on the countdown on each lot!

Remember to refresh your screen regularly (there is a refresh every 60 seconds button at the top of the active catalog; make sure to check it!)

 

PAYMENT

We accept checks, credit cards, and cash. We may need to hold your items until payment has been received or checks have cleared. All sales are subject to our Terms and Conditions, please read them!

BUYER’S PREMIUM & SALES TAX

23% buyer's premium and sales tax if paying with credit card.
20% buyer's premium if paying with cash or check.

NOTE: You are required to pay tax unless you are a dealer with a valid resale number OR you are located out of state & are having items shipped to you.

PICKING UP YOUR ITEMS

Items can generally be picked up anytime in the week following the sale from 8:30am to 1pm and again from 2pm to 4:30pm in the Bronx. Please watch our announcement bar for Holiday hours.

We require 24 hours' notice in advance of pick up. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PACKING MATERIALS.

Note: NY State sales tax of 8.875% must be added to your invoice when picking up merchandise unless you have a valid resale number on file at the Hayloft offices.

We will begin charging storage fees of $5 per lot per day starting the Monday a week after the sale for any unclaimed merchandise.

SHIPPING YOUR ITEMS

At this time, we do not have an in-house packing or shipping option. Please bring your own packing materials. However, we have several options for you if shipping is your preference. Feel free to contact us for any assistance with shipping your purchases.
