Mark is responsible for sourcing, appraising and cataloguing Russian works of art to be offered at auction. In addition, he is a member of the team of specialists who prepare estate appraisals for the Trusts and Estates community.

Since re-joining Doyle in 2016, Mark has been responsible for a number of highly successful sales, including a Fabergé Silver and Pictorial Enamel Kovsh by workmaster Feodor Rückert, from a Connecticut Private Collection ($237,500); a Russian Silver and Pictorial Enamel Box by Feodor Rückert, from a West Coast Private Collection ($150,000); and Property from the Descendants of Russian Grand Duke George Mikhailovich, a remarkable collection of Fabergé, silver, icons and family heirlooms, with close connections to the Russian Imperial Family.

A twenty-one-year auction veteran with broad experience working with private collectors, distinguished institutions and members of the trade, Mark spent a decade as Vice President, Director and Head of Russian Works of Art at Christie’s in New York and London, where he was responsible for numerous successful sales. These include the Imperial Diamond Trellis Egg (New York, private sale); an important and previously undiscovered Fabergé imperial presentation snuff box with portrait miniature (London, £937,250), which established a new World Auction Record in the category; and the collections of the descendants of Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna and Grand Duke George Mikhailovich. Mark was also involved with the landmark sales of the collections of Elizabeth Taylor, Joan Rivers and Van Cliburn.

Mark has served as an advisor to private collectors and institutions, assisting with new acquisitions and collections management. He was a featured presenter at The Wonder of Fabergé: A Study of the McFerrin Collection at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, and he has been a featured presenter on Fabergé at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond. Mark was Guest Curator and catalogue editor of the exhibition Unknown Fabergé: New Finds and Re-Discoveries at The Museum of Russian Art in Minneapolis, Minnesota (2016-2017). This exhibition showcased more than eighty works by Fabergé, many of them previously unknown. More recently, Mark was consultant curator to the exhibition Fabergé: The Art of Presentation at the Houston Museum of Natural Science (2019-2020) and author of the exhibition catalogue. This exhibition featured important imperial presentation gifts in the McFerrin Fabergé Collection, one of the world’s largest and most important private collections of Fabergé.

Mark graduated with a B.A. from Marquette University and received his M.Phil., jointly granted by the University of Glasgow and Christie's Education in London.
