This week, I decided to put together a list of interior design resources that have been inspiring me since I moved into the Hayloft space a few weeks ago. Hayloft provides SO much inspiration, but sometimes you need some extra resources to know what to do with all of the beautiful objects that this warehouse puts in front of you. So I decided to share those with you all as well, with some descriptors to guide you to the ones that fit what you're looking for best.

Enjoy!

Coming Soon New York

Coming Soon New York is an amazing resource. It has a “Tiger Homes” page that documents interesting young collectors’ homes – many of them apartments scattered around Manhattan and Brooklyn. Then, very much up my alley, it has a page that tells you how your astrological sign likes to home-make, and features beautiful objects as examples in the process.

Domino Mag

An interior design service, and also a magazine that features design tips! Its Instagram features posts of people's homes who have used their designer's services, so it really is a trove of design inspiration for spaces of every shape, size, lighting and location.

Reading my Tea Leaves

This one is family-oriented, and about living in small New York spaces, sustainably! It features a “Tiny Apartment Survival Tips” segment – now up to #157. Also features fun DIY projects, like, most recently, preserving fall leaves by dipping them in melted beeswax - they look BEAUTIFUL as a mobile in a window or along a white wall.

Brooklyn Limestone

This is a blog that started from a woman's own design project - her very run down limestone (100+ years old) in Brooklyn. She gives you a full house tour of that space - amazing - and also writes posts on fun DIY projects, design, travel, etc. A Hayloft-esque aesthetic permeates her space; part of the reason I'm hooked.

Rita Konig

Inspiring interiors and fun DIYs on how to DISPLAY things tastefully in your home (artwork, liquor, plants, for example) – something that can sometimes prove less intuitive than you might originally have thought. Her Instagram is also a great resource for just that kind of inspiration, if Insta is more your speed than blog-reading.

Design Sponge

An well-known/established/respected and amazing resource for everything design: DIY projects, articles about people's homes that just happen to be amazingly cool… It has expanded to include travel, food & drink, and life & business articles, too. So, just an all around entertaining and wonderful resource even if you don't know quite what you're looking for.

Apartment Therapy

Apartment tours of strangers’ homes, DIY, design tips and inspiration. A lovely “Small spaces, solved” section that speaks to me; tips for organizing and cleaning (which, let’s face it, we ALL need).

Beekman 1802

Recently featured on our Instagram, this is an amazing business with a flagship store in a small town called Sharon Springs, New York. They got their start just trying it out as farmers after the recession.. then got picked up as a TV show by Discover... and now they turn what their farm produces into incredible wares, and it turns out they have the most lovely design sense. Their website features DIY, entertaining, and design ideas, and their store is just BEAUTIFUL – home decor inspiration all around, including a wall made up of framing (see photo 3).
