1. Do I have to pay sales tax?
If you are in NY, MD, CA.
If you are not a dealer and live in any other state but are picking up the items yourself. New York sales tax is 8.875%. Maryland sales tax is 6%.
If you are in any other state and shipping your purchases using an ICC shipper.
If you are a dealer, have registered to bid under your business name and have filled out a ST-120 form
A copy needs to be on file at your Hayloft location
2. Do you ship?
For our New York location, we can ship some items by UPS (billed separately by UPS for shipping and handling). Or we are happy to recommend shippers and movers. Clients can also coordinate pick ups at our warehouse by calling 929-303-3266.
For our D.C. MEtro location, we can ship USPS, FedEx or UPS (billed separately for shipping and handling), or clients can pick up property by appointment. Please call 301-348-5282 for more information.
3. How do I consign my property to Hayloft?
Hayloft is not currently taking property in on consignment. We may be interested in purchasing your items though. Please email email@example.com with pictures and descriptions of your items.
4. THE MEANING OF A SOFT CLOSE
The auction ends in a "soft close"--that means for every new bid, the lot will stay "live" another 3 minutes to allow competing bidders to bid, so there's no mad dash of mouse-clicking at the end of the sale! The lot closes when there is no more active bidding. Be sure to keep your eye on the countdown on each lot!
5. HOW LONG DO I HAVE AFTER AN AUCTION ENDS TO PICK UP MY ITEMS?
Items can generally be picked up anytime in the week following the sale from 8:30am to 1pm and again from 2pm to 4:30pm in the Bronx. Please watch our announcement bar for Holiday hours.
We require 24 hours' notice in advance of pick up. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PACKING MATERIALS.
We will begin charging storage fees of $5 per lot per day starting the Monday a week after the sale
6. WHAT DO I DO IF IM INTERESTED IN SELLING STUFF TO YOU?
We make selling easy for you. We purchase outright and can provide full broomclean services! The easiest way is to send us photos of ALL the objects that you would like to sell, even a room shot; Please send photos to either:

7. DO YOU PACK FOR ME?
